Max fka Jack 1 Meet Jack!! Jack is a STUNNING 2 your old, barely 60 pound fella, who was left at the Carson Shelter when his owners were moving and decided they couldn't take him along. Jack was PETRIFIED, who could blame him...When we saw his shelter video and our volunteer went to visit him we knew we had to get him out of there right away. Jack is at our vet now getting the once over and really needs to get into a home again. We were told he is house trained, good with other dogs and kids. He does know some commands and isn't too bad on the leash. FAST FORWARD: Jack has found his forever home. His new mom and dad LOVE him!!! They knew the day after they picked him up that he was the dog they had been waiting for. Jack now has his forever home!!!!
Olive Meet Olive!! It never ceases to amaze us how some of the most amazing dogs end up on the euthanasia list for just being scared in a very over whelming environment. Our sweet Olive was picked up as a stray, she was clearly a breeding machine, her family never came looking for her. As a black lab mix, scared, hiding in the back of her kennel she had no hope...until we saw her. Olive was clearly loved at some point in her 3 years. She knows, sit, shake, down and is a lady on the leash. Someone cared, just not enough to make sure she didn't die at the shelter. Olive is capturing everyone's heart who meets her, she is that special. FAST FORWARD:I wanted to share my happy ending update with you about my beautiful Foster Fail, Olive!! My previous foster had just been adopted, and I decided on July 3 of last year that it would be a good idea to take in another foster to free up a spot for Labs and Friends because of the huge influx of dogs at the shelters following Fourth of July festivities...I had seen Olive on the facebook page looking for a foster/forever home, so I contacted one of the amazing volunteers that I had worked with previously and went to pick up Olive that afternoon. After several weeks it was obvious that Olive fit in with the pack too well to let her go, so I signed contracts and made ours her official forever home...Olive began attending obedience classes with my dad (who is happily retired) to keep them both busy and out of trouble last September and was a star! She began working on nose work and is now ready to take the test to get her certification!! Olive loves her family, and we love her!!!!!
Looney Meet Looney! Allowing an animal to suffer is something we will never understandâ¦Looney was part of a confiscation case at one of our local shelters. Her owners let her suffer with a prolapsed uterus for days. In pain, bleeding and near death she was relinquished to the shelter. She had urgent surgery and then she satâ¦and satâ¦and then she was made available NO OTHER rescue showed any interest in helping her. When she was on the euthanasia list we stepped upâ¦we just had too⦠Looney is about 4-5 years old, she is all of 50 pounds and pure love. She is completely healthy now and really needs a foster or better yet forever home to show her love. She is very affectionate, sweet, happy and easy going. She is house trained, good with other dogs and very well mannered. She is a true gem. FAST FORWARD: Looney went to a wonderful foster home. Her foster mom fell in LOVE with her!!! Looney now has the love and attention she so much deserves!!!!
Lucy Meet Lucy!! Lucy was rescued from the Carson Shelter after she was brought in by her familyâ¦she had gotten loose and was most likely hit by a car. She couldn't stand or walk, and they didn't know what to do. They surrendered her, and then the shelter contacted us. Lucy has been with us for several weeks now. We did x-rays and saw swelling along her spine, she has been on steroids and getting laser treatments. After several weeks, she is now able to stand and walk on her own. She is now in a foster home to help her continue on the road to recovery. Lucy is great with other dogs, though she is not quite ready for lots of playing, she is good with kids, house trained and an absolute doll. Lucy is a total sweetheart!! FAST FORWARD: Lucy has found an incredible forever home. Her new family is going to continue her rehabilitation to help get her back to 100%. Lucy is getting to go on walks to the park and to the beach. Her new family plays ball with her and works with her daily to build up her strength. They LOVE Lucy and are so happy to have her as part of their family.
