Max HBC A sweet, 1-2 year old, neutered black lab was picked up and brought to the Downey Shelter. He was immediately networked because he had been hit by a car and needed medical attention. We were alerted to him and we were the only ones to step up to help him. This sweet boy is now Max and he was clearly hit by a car and then dragged by it. We got Max stabilized and had our orthopedic vet assess his leg. Sadly, the leg was broken, degloved, decayed flesh and serious tendon and ligament damage. He needed an IMMEDIATE amputation. He is one of the sweetest boys even being in excruciating pain. FAST FORWARD: Max had his surgery and went to a wonderful foster home to recover. His recovery went very well and his foster family began to fall in LOVE with him. We had someone interested in adopting Max. When we contacted his foster mom there was no way she could let him leave their family. Another foster failure, but then we LOVE them!!! Fosters are the best!! |
