Pepper Meet Pepper!! Pepper is a sweet, sensitive, 50 pound lab mix who is still looking for a foster or forever home. Pepper is a love, the perfect size and very affectionate. Pepper loves to give and receive love and be with his people. He will curl up in your lap and wait for belly rubs all day long if you let him. Pepper would love to be a companion to someone where he could just hang out and relax, or go hiking and jogging. He is good with kids, but he will get nervous around a lot of screaming and loud behavior. Pepper is house trained, crate trained and knows basic commands. He is an absolute doll! He is happy, sweet, energetic, loves to play fetch, cuddle and be with his people. He is well socialized with other dogs, but does not like cats!! FAST FORWARD: Pepper has found his forever home. His new family LOVES him!!! He is enjoying the good life as you can tell by the pictures.
Pluto - Puppy At only 3 months old Pluto should be happy, healthy and enjoying puppyhood...sadly, he is VERY sick! Pluto found himself as a stray at a high kill shelter and now he has a severe Upper Respiratory Infection. He also tested positive for Parvo! We had to react fast as we were his only hope...no one else was coming to rescue him. We are doing everything we can for him. Update: Pluto has recovered and is now waiting for his forever family to adopt him. FAST FORWARD: Merry Christmas from Rico, Cheryl and I. Rico is doing very well. He now weighs 18 lbs and is a little taller. The vet says he probably wonât get to any more than 25 lbs. She also thinks he has some Boxer in him which would be consistant with his springyness and his use of his front paws as hands. We start 12 sessions of obedience training on January 9. We have been taking him on a lot of walks (up to 3 miles) and he has had a little time in a couple of fenced in fields to run free. He is fast! He loves to ride in the car and has had quite a lot of exposure to other dogs. He remains a very smart, funny, and lovable pup and we think we made a good choice. We LOVE our new family member, now Rico!!!
Petey Meet Petey! This amazing, guy was surrendered to the Harbor Shelter with his buddy weeks ago. He was heartbrokenâ¦his buddy was adopted and there he sat, day after day, loosing weight, getting depressed not understanding why he was there. He was a volunteer favorite at the shelter. We were emailed asking if we could help and thanks to a temporary foster home opening up we were able to rescue Petey and get him into a home. As soon as Petey was pulled, we immediately got him to the vet. He had HORRIBLE ear infections, so we did blood work just to be sure he was okay. His ears are still being treated, but they are improving and his blood was great, so he is now on the road to feeling good! Petey's foster family says he is basically perfect. He is completely house trained, loves to say "hi" to everyone they meet on walks, loves attention, easy on the leash, knows basic commands and was clearly a family dog. Let's get Petey the family he deserves! FAST FORWARD: Petey has found his forever home. He now has a loving family to hang out with and do all kinds of fun things. He even has a doggy friend to play with. Petey is one LUCKY boy and his new family LOVES him!!
Punk Meet Punk!! Our sweet boy is healing nicely from his ACL surgery and is ready to go to a loving foster or forever home!! Many will remember he was left by his owners at the Orange Co Shelter, unable to bare weight on his rear leg. Of course, he was on the euthanasia listed and no one else was coming forward to help him. Well, we did, with everyone's help and now he is doing great! Punk was a family dog, as you can see great with kids, good with other dogs, house trained and not to bad on the leash. He knows basic commands and is SO loving!! He is energetic and ready to go! FAST FORWARD: Punk has found his forever home!! His new mom LOVES him!! Punk is one LUCKY boy to have found such a wonderful home.
