Chuey Meet Chuey!! It is hard to believe what a difference 6 weeks can make, but as you can see from Chuey's pictures, his transformation is amazing! We rescued Chuey from the Downey Shelter in Aprilâ¦he was in horrible condition. His skin was raw from demodex (non-contagious) mange and a secondary bacterial infection. His joints were swollen and he was in extreme pain (he would actually cry if you touched him) ⦠he had no hope of making it out alive. Luckily for Chuey, one of our volunteers saw him, offered to foster (YES, Fosters DEFINITELY Save Lives!) and he has been getting the medical care he desperately needed. Fast forward 6 weeks and now King Chuey is ruling his castle! He is feeling happy, playful and SO much better! Chuey is all of 31 pounds and we believe he is about 9 months to a year old. He is completely house trained, crate trained (even respects an exercise pen) and good with other dogs. He is what we call an adorable low rider with big personality! He is learning his basic commands and is eager to please. FAST FORWARD: Chuey has found his forever home. His new mom LOVES him!!!! |
