A4959719 Cooper is a cheerful, relaxed 5-year-old fawn-with-white neutered male Mastiff and Pit Bull mix who was abandoned by his owner at a local veterinary office because the owner was not allowed to have dogs where he lives. Weighing just over 80 lbs, Cooper is a mellow and cooperative dog. He adores being with people and just hanging out, doing whatever you're doing. He is highly adaptable, and would be a great side-kick to keep you company at work or around the house. Cooper loves to go for rides in the car, or to have a snooze in the sun. He is relaxed around dogs of all sizes when out and about; at home, we think he would be happiest as a single dog or possibly paired with a well-matched female dog or smaller dogs. Cooper walks decently on leash, but some additional obedience training will really help him shine; he is eager-to-please and finds treats very motivating, so additional training with him should be a breeze. Cooper has a spectacularly large head that attracts attention wherever he goes; he loves to rest it on the knee of his human friends and be pet. We can't overstate how loving and gentle this boy is--just lean down for a kiss and let him show you. He is great with kids, too. Cooper experienced a lifetime of neglect, so he has some longer-term health issues related to this, including a kidney condition that can be managed by diet and a daily medication he is happy to take--and there is nothing that stops him from being a fabulous best pal! Cooper will be an awesome addition to any loving household eager to have a mellow, devoted best friend and that will offer him the care and attention he craves.
